Tom's Pre-Show Interview with
ODERUS URUNGUS of GWAR Lust In Space/25th Anniversary Tour June 23, 2010 @ Westcott Theater - Syracuse, NY
Here is a short and fun pre-show interview with Oderus Urungus, Lead Singer of GWAR, at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse NY on June 23, 2010.
The dressing area was in the back of a semi trailer and was a little dark, so I had to lighten the footage and make it Black & White to be able to see it better.
We had to be short due to some (apparently) unscheduled photo shoots, so we were told we had about three minutes for the interview. But I had about 15 - 20 minutes worth of questions... So, I picked the most fun questions and got them out as quickly as possible.
Oderus was hilarious. He was the first major interview I ever did, way back in 2001, and this interview, though rushed, was a lot of fun.

As a bonus, I have added the live performance of the song "Lords & Masters." The video isn't as crisp as my usual videos because there was a haze in the air from all the moisture and partly due to the fact that I had my Flip Ultra in a ZipLoc bag to prevent damage from all the blood GWAR sprays on the audience. It still looks better than camera phone videos and it sounds okay!
What a show!!! It was definitely one of the best GWAR shows I have ever seen.
The Westcott Theater was the PERFECT venue to see a band of GWAR's calibre. Though the former cinema house is large, it was hotter than even the Lost Horizon back in the day.
I heard a lot of people complaining about the fact that they kept bumping into sweaty people. To them, I say: "Get over it, stupid! EVERYONE (including you) was sweaty and covered in blood. THAT is part of what a GWAR show is about... a warped sense of tribal oneness. We are all dirty, sweaty slaves of our Scumdog Overlords,
and the sooner you realize this, the sooner we can all get back to enjoying the show.
If the sweat and blood bother you, WHY in the HELL are you at a GWAR show anyway?
So, for what it is, here is my video report on the GWAR 25th Anniversary/Lust In Space show in Syracuse.
I hope you all enjoy it... If you don't... too bad. LOL
