Me & Mercedes Landers (drums) of Kittie |
Throwing down the glove to anyone that thinks that they can rock harder, Kittie's members challenge the age old belief that hard rock is a man's game. The all-girl band blasted the denizens of The Lost Horizon with their estrogen fueled brand of rock as part of their "Run Like Hell" tour in support of their latest release "Oracle" on Artemis Records.
The sold-out show took place in the middle of a vicious downpour that was equaled only by the band's performance. These girls are angrier than a badger on steroids. The intensity of their music is shocking to say the least. Screaming guitars, pounding drums, and acid vocals drive into your brain like a Mack Truck, sending you into a slamming frenzy.
The crowd whipped themselves into a blur of hair, elbows and combat boots with an occasional crowd surfer braving the tumultuous sea of sweaty bodies. There was not a dry person in the house by the end of the set and there were no complaints from anyone. The girls in Kittie proved to the Syracuse crowd that they do indeed have claws.
