 December 25, 2000 - Christmas Night. 11:22 p.m.
I received this journal as a Christmas gift from my brother Chris, along with a copy of the 2001 edition of Let's Go Europe book. With only 14 days left until I embark upon my journey to Paris, this could not have been a more thoughtful or perfect gift. I am filled with excitement as the day draws nearer. Beginning on January 1, 2001, this journal will reflect my thoughts and moods as I prepare for my adventure.
Preparations for my Bon Voyage bash are set. All that remains is to assign time slots to the bands. I cannot wait! Time seems to move more slowly the more you want something to happen.
I am happy to note that Eliza and Kathy were both very happy with their gifts. They had a wonderful time opening presents with their three grandmothers and Uncle Chris.
I hope my sister and her family had as wonderful a time as we did. (And, I hope she isn't too terribly mad that I sent her an email of my butt!!) Diane's web-cam is a wonderful thing!! I must get one soon!
After dinner, I took Kathy and Eliza home. When I returned, Chris and his friend Rod, Diane, Mom and I went to see the Sandra Bullock film: Miss Congeniality. It was very funny and she was beautiful. The film ended, the credits rolled, and so did we: all the way back to the house.
Mom and I played a game of dominoes and she won. After our game, we locked the doors, turned off the lights, and Mom headed off to bed.
All in all, it was a great day.

Merry Christmas

The house is silent.
Everyone is asleep.
Toy soldiers standing guard.

		Another Christmas: come and gone.
Only bits of paper and leftovers,

To remind us of our day.
